Although we’re still in the mid-summer wedding season, this week we thought we’d see if we could make some trend predictions for the Asian Wedding Experience 2018. We’ve already filled over half of the exhibitor stands so we know the show is going to be packed with absolutely everything you could need for your wedding.
Having had a look around Pinterest (we particularly liked these boards by Confetti) there seems to be a real mix out there. From the traditional red and gold, to beautifully blended peacock blues and taking a glance at the Western trends of cream & coral we are quite sure there will be something for everyone at the show. These pictures from the catwalk shows last year show that these colourways are already well established and it’s really up to you to add the accessories to really make the look yours.
Our sponsor photographer, Monir Ali, posted pictures of a recent fusion wedding in Central London on his website last week. It’s a wonderful mix of traditional, modern, commerical, religious, eastern and western influences – you can find the pictures here. It looks like they were blessed with excellent weather, obliging tourists and Monir’s eye for detail really captures the moment.
In terms of invitations, we’re thrilled to be having the team from Bespoke Wedding Invites UK back at the show this year. The invitations to your wedding are just the start of what will be a wonderful experience for you and your guests. One of the trends we have noticed emerging though is that couples are taking on a graphic designer to create a monogram or design for their wedding. This is the then found on the invitations, in the decor on the day and also added to the cake. It’s a lovely way to really personalise your wedding.
As we get closer to the show, we’ll be asking some of our exhibitors for their trend predictions for the show and 2018 weddings in general – we look forward to sharing more with you soon – and don’t forget to sign up so you know when the tickets are out!
